(Florida, Cancún, Punta Cana, Michès) - Pioneered the family all-inclusive and still does kids' programming better than anyone. Age-segmented clubs with genuine sports coaching (trapeze, tennis, sailing). Club Med Michès is the standout boutique eco-resort. Best for active families.
Nickelodeon Resorts
(Punta Cana, Riviera Maya) - If your kids are 3–10 and obsessed with SpongeBob and Dora, this is the play. Character breakfasts, slime-themed activities, water parks that compete with standalone attractions. Best for young kids who prioritize character experiences.

Royal Caribbean
TPG's 2026 Best Cruise Line for Families. Icon of the Seas has a water park, surf simulator, ice skating, zip line. Best for active families with tweens and teens. $120–250/person/night.
Disney Cruise Line
Best for kids 3–9. Broadway-caliber shows, fireworks at sea, Castaway Cay (the best cruise line private island). Rotational dining with servers who follow you. $200–400/person/night. The magic premium is real - and for the right ages, it's worth it.
Norwegian
Best for flexibility. No fixed dining times, no assigned tables, resort-casual dress code. Go-kart tracks on newer ships. $100–200/person/night.
Carnival
Best value. Newer ships (Mardi Gras, Celebration) have excellent family infrastructure and the best included dining variety at the price point. $80–150/person/night.
Multi-Generational Travel 🧑🧑🧒🧒
The fastest-growing segment in family vacations. Grandparents, parents, kids - different energy levels, different bedtimes, different ideas about "vacation." When it works, it creates memories that outlast any single-generation trip.
Get the room right. Three bedrooms, a shared living space, and doors that close. The new Beaches four-bedroom suites (Runaway Bay, Treasure Beach Village, Exuma) are purpose-built for this.
Don't over-schedule. One anchor activity per day together. Free time for natural subgroups. At least one date night for parents while grandparents do bedtime - or vice versa.
Talk about money before you book. "Grandparents cover the suite, parents cover flights" or "everyone pays their own room, shared meals split." Decide early. In writing.

10 Tips That Actually Help 💡
- Book the right room. Space is the #1 predictor of family vacation happiness. Connecting rooms or multi-bedroom suites.
- Fly early. The 6am flight is painful at 4am but least likely to be delayed.
- Arrive a day before your cruise. Buffer night at an airport hotel. Cheapest insurance you'll buy.
- Use the kids' club without guilt. Trained professionals. Your kids will have more fun there than waiting for adults to finish wine.
- Pack a carry-on with a full outfit for everyone. Luggage gets lost. Survive the first 24 hours.
- The resort matters more than the destination. Your kids won't remember the island name. They'll remember the water park and meeting Elmo at breakfast.
- One "do nothing" day. No excursions. Pool, beach, naps. Usually everyone's favorite day.
- White noise machine. Resort hallways are loud. $20 on Amazon.
- Go in shoulder season. May–June and November offer the best Caribbean value. 20–35% savings.
- Lower expectations slightly. Something will go wrong. Families that roll with it have great trips.
